Our injectable hygrogel and gel putty technology enables SilkLife, a silk fibroin biomaterial, to be formulated into versatile forms for a wide range of applications. Currently, we focus on orthopedic applications, including an injectable hydrogel for joint lubrication or as a carrier for selected active ingredients, and a moldable putty that can be combined with selected powdered active ingredients for easy shaping and placement at targeted bone sites.

Many applications require materials that can maintain their function in the body’s fluid- rich environment. Injectable hydrogel & gel putty Technology enables SilkLife to be formulated into versatile hydrogel and putty forms for a range of applications. The hydrogel can provide joint lubrication or serve as a carrier for selected active ingredients and biological materials, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), supporting localized delivery and retention. The moldable putty can be combined with powdered materials such as demineralized bone matrix (DBM) or hydroxyapatite (HA), allowing easy shaping, placement, and retention at the target site.
